Spent Christmas here at the Starfish Jolly Beach Resort. The resort has been taken over by a Canadian Company and are spending a lot of money refurbishing the whole of the resort. The
hotel is around 50 years old and looks very tired. There are 3 A La Carte restaurants on the complex
of which one the Italian was closed for refurbishment during our first week, when it reopened it was a self service. The other two were a Mexican and Seafood, the food here was good but some items on the menu were at additional charges. To get a reservation you had to reserve your table between 4 and 7 pm for the following day.
We had a upgraded room with 2 double beds, tv, fridge, safe and noisy air con, the bathroom with overhead shower was in need of updating. The facilities are quiet spread out with the reception in the center where you could connect to the internet, there was no internet in  or near the bedrooms. It was a fair walk to all of the restaurants from our room as well as the bars, some of the paths were rough to walk over so care was the order of the day.
The staff in general were very good, service was also very good and it was uplifting on a morning to hear the waitress singing a local song to greet you to breakfast.
Overall a pleasant relaxing holiday, it was spoilt a little at the end when our flight home was delayed for 4 hours and the restaurant in the airport tried to rip us off to the tune of $25.
