Holidays disrupted due to the Coronavirus

Just over 1 year ago we booked a holiday for 2 adults and granddaughter to Disney's holiday resort in Orlando Florida. The coronavirus has put paid to that, we were due to fly out of Manchester Airport on 27 of April flying with Virgin Atlantic. As all the Virgin shops are closed we were left in limbo not knowing what was going to happen. When you phoned the company as soon as you gave your reference number you were cut off. On Thursday of this week we received an e-mail from  Virgin which gave us the option of either rebooking or cancelling. To do this you had to make a selection by indicating your choice.  Included in the e-mail was an advert to search for a holiday, but to go back to the same resort the price has increased from £6200 TO £6400. Virgin will not  communicate with patrons until 72 hours before they were due to fly out.

Virgin holiday update
Our daughter who is booked along side us received a communication from Virgin Atlantic on Thursday and was able to combine both of our bookings. After chatting to and fro for 2 days we eventually managed to rebook a holiday to the same resort for the 26/04/2021 which is 1year less a day away. We were due to fly out on the 27/04/2020 at a total cost of £6224.50 the new cost is £7346.00 which makes an increase of £1121.50 That is priced on the cheapest day around that date, can now rest easy whilst we watch the daily briefing of the virus death figures and the lengh of the lockdown.
