Warners, Thoresby Hall

Just spent 4 days at this adults only hotel and spa, Monday through to Friday This was the first day of the easing of the Covid 19 restrictions, 17th of May. Strict rules were in place with the wearing of masks and social distancing operating. To use any of the facilities booking of times had to be made and limited numbers were allowed. Meal times were allocated to each couple and tables were kept at 2 metres apart with waitress service. After the long lay off of the staff, on the first day there were some slight hiccups, these were soon sorted out and ran fairly smoothly for the rest of the stay.

As the weather was not so good staying inside was the better option where there was a range of activities. These included snooker, darts, quizzes, swimming pool, reading room a bar and tea room. Outside activities included Archery, Crossbows, Rifle shooting a guided tour of the grounds and Falconry.  Each evening there was entertainment with good local singers, a top comedian and a Welsh baritone. The food was first class with a decent range of choice.

Below are a few photographs of a selection of birds which were demonstrated by an expert John Alistair

A Selection of the flying birds

This is a Peruvian monkey owl

John Alistair who flew the birds and the one he has here is a very young owl

As the weather was quiet cold I was not able  to ask the questions as to what all the birds were, and being quiet deaf is a problem when you are in a crowd, not that I stayed to long.
